Yamabiko no oka

Kijimadaira Village, Nagano Prefecture

やまびこの丘スキー場 長野県木島平村

Yamabiko no oka is one of five ski areas on the slopes of Mt Kosha in Kijimadaira Village in the northern region of Nagano Prefecture. This area opened in 1994. At that time it was officially part of the existing Kijimadaira ski area and known as the Ikenotaira Gelande. When the quad lift opened, Kijimadaira became connected with another ski area on the southern slopes of Mt Kosha called Takafuji. In 2011 Ikenotaira Gelande became known as Yamabiko no oka. It has been closed since the 2017-2018 season but the two ski lifts remain in place.
