Shirakigamine

白木ヶ峰スキー場 岐阜県飛騨市

Shirakigamine was a ski area in what used to be Miyakawa Village, now part of Hida City, in the northern region of Gifu Prefecture and close to the border with Toyama Prefecture. The ski area opened in 1972 and was last open during the 2009-2010 winter season. The two single ski lifts have since been removed from the location.

Further Information

  • Shirakigamine Ski Area opened in 1972
     
  • When it opened, the address was Miyakawa Village 宮川村 in the northern region of Gifu Prefecture, close to the border with Toyama Prefecture
     
  • Miyakawa Village merged with several neighbouring towns and villages to become Hida City 飛騨市 in February 2004
     
  • The ski area was about a 10-minute walk from Sugihara Station 杉原駅 on the Takayama Line
     
  • There were two ski lifts at Shirakigamine
     
  • In the 2008-2009 season, less than 4,000 people visited the ski area
     
  • It only opened on weekends and holidays during the 2009-2010 season
     
  • Shirakigamine did not open at all for the 2010-2011 season
     
  • In December 2011, it was announced that the ski area had officially closed
     
  • The two ski lifts have been removed
     
  • Several buildings remain in the base area, including the Manga Toshokan (Library) まんが図書館 and Hida Manga Okoku 飛騨まんが王国 onsen and accommodation
