Further Information

  • Nakatsugawa was a ski area in the southwestern region of Nakatsugawa City, south of Mt Ena 恵那山

  • It was located about 15km from the central city area

  • Access to the ski area was via a long and narrow approach road following the Nakatsu river

  • A guidebook from around 1970 says that the ski area had two rope tows and two 'troika'-style lifts

  • Even at this high location, the area did not get that much snow

  • It is unclear when it closed, but perhaps in the early 1980s

  • The location is now home to a (membership-only) vehicle course called OFF ROAD PARK Kuroizawa (OFF ROAD PARK 黒井沢)

  • Currently the approach road seems to be temporarily closed due to a landslide
