  • This ski area appears to have been known by a few different names

  • In guidebooks from the early 1990s, the ski area was known as Azumayama Kokumin Kyukamura 吾妻山国民休暇村

  • In a few other later guidebooks, it was known as Kyukamura Azumayama きゅうかむら吾妻山

  • The guidebooks do agree that there was one short rope tow lift servicing a gentle slope on the southwestern side of the 1,239m Mt Azuma

  • That lift was surely in the area around the base hotel (* not confirmed)

  • In recent years, that accommodation facility was known as Kyukamura Azumayama Lodge 休暇村吾妻山ロッジ

  • However, that seems to have been closed since 2021

  • The location used to be part of Hiwa Town 比和町

  • Hiwa Town became part of Shobara City in March 2005
