Midori-no-mura

Gozenso

Hakusan City, Ishikawa Prefecture

緑の村御前荘スキー場 石川県白山市

Midori-no-mura Gozenso was a small ski area located in what used to be Shiramine Village, now part of Hakusan City in the southern region of Ishikawa Prefecture. It was associated with the nearby accommodation and hot spring facility called Gozenso. That facility has been closed since 2019, but it is thought that the ski area closed before that. This ski area was also known as Shiramine Kogen Midori-no-mura Gelande.

Further Information

  • This ski area was located in what used to be Shiramine Village 白峰村

  • Shiramine Village became part of Hakusan City in February 2005

  • The ski lift was by the side of the hot spring and accommodation facility called Gozenso 御前荘

  • It appears that non-guests were also able to use this small ski area, though, in effect, it was like a private ski slope

  • There was one short single lift, an average gradient of 12 degrees and a steepest slope of 20 degrees

  • A nearby map sign by the side of Prefecture Road 33 shows the old ski lift

  • The exact positioning of the lift in the above image is a 'best guess' based in information available

  • There was also floodlit night skiing until 9:00pm on nights before holidays

  • The sign also shows other facilities in the Midori-no-mura facility, including a gateball area (just next to where the ski lift used to be), tennis courts, camping, cycling, and walking paths

  • Gozenso has been closed since 2019, but it is thought that the ski area closed before that

  • The opening date is also unconfirmed, but the ski area was listed in a few ski guidebooks in the early 1990s

  • In one guidebook from 1996 this ski area was actually listed as Shiramine Kogen Midori-no-mura Gelande 白峰高原緑の村ゲレンデ

  • On a visit to the location in 2023, there was an old groomer with Shiramine Kogen Uehara Ski Area 白峰高原上原スキー場 written on the side

  • Shiramine Kogen 白峰高原スキー場 used to be the old name for the nearby larger (and also now closed) Hakusan Shiramine Onsen ski area 白山白峰温泉スキー場

  • More information on that ski area here
