Kanose was a ski area located in Kanose Town in the northern region of Niigata Prefecture. In 2005 Kanose Town merged with a few neighbouring towns and villages to become Aga Town. Little confirmed information can be found about Kanose Ski Area. It was known locally as Amana and featured one lift and, apparently, a ski jump.

Further Information

  • When Kanose Ski Area was open, it was located in what was known as Kanose Town
    　
  • In April 2005, Kanose Town 鹿瀬町, Tsugawa Town  津川町, Kamikawa Village 上川村 and Mikawa Village  三川村  merged to form Aga Town 阿賀町
    　
  • Very little confirmed information about the ski area can be found
    　
  • It was locally also known as Amana  天名スキー場
    　
  • Various local ski events were held on this slope
    　
  • This is unconfirmed, but apparently there was one (ropetow?) lift and also a ski jump and nearby cross-country course too
    　
  • There was no car parking at the base, so no close access available by car
    　
  • As with a few other old ski area locations in this region, it is difficult to imagine what this ski area might have been like as nature has totally taken over
