Tsubame Onsen

Myoko City, Niigata Prefecture

燕温泉スキー場 新潟県妙高市

Tsubame Onsen was a ski area located at an altitude of 1,100m on the north-eastern slopes of Mt Myoko in Niigata Prefecture. Unlike most small areas it offered some relatively challenging terrain rather than gentle beginner runs. It was popular for the quality - and quantity - of snow as well as being a base for mountain skiing. Tsubame Onsen closed in 2006. The larger remaining ski resorts in Myoko are to the east and south-east of this location.
