猿倉スキー場 富山県富山市

Sarukura, also known as Sarukurayama, was a ski area located on the southern outskirts of Toyama City. It opened in 1965 and closed in 2010. The north-facing slopes of this ski area provided good views of the Toyama plain and out towards Toyama Bay.

Further Information

  • This ski area was also known as Sarukurayama  猿倉 山スキー場  or Sarukura Joushi Koen  猿倉城跡公園スキー場
     
  • When it originally opened in 1965, there was just one t-bar lift
     
  • A new 300m single lift opened on 25th December 1969
     
  • Night skiing started in 1985, and it was usually open until 9:00pm every day
     
  • There was a sledging area for children on the other side of the road (on the left side in the above image)
     
  • The ski area closed in 2010, and the lift was removed
     
  • The floodlights still remained in 2022
     
  • The ski area is within an area known as Sarukurayama Shinrin Kouen 猿倉山森林公園
     
  • There is also a small observation facility in an area above the top of the ski area called Kaze no Shiro 風の城
     
  • There are also a campsite and outdoor barbeque facilities
     
  • This location used to be part of Osawano Town 大沢野町
     
  • Osawano Town merged with some other towns and villages in April 2005 to become part of Toyama City
