Oguni Snow Park was a small ski area located in what used to be Oguni Town, now part of Nagaoka City in Niigata Prefecture. This ski area had a pair lift that was just 116m in length with a gentle slope coming down from the side. It seems to have been popular with locals for sledding and other snow activities as much as skiing.

Further Information

  • Oguni Snow Park offered just one beginner slope that was serviced by a very short pair lift
    　
  • The area was popular for snow tubing and sledding as well as skiing
    　
  • There are some steps going up by the side of the lift - the walk up takes about a few minutes when there's no snow
    　
  • The ski lift remains in place but it has obviously been neglected for a number of years
    　
  • Having said that, it looks far from being beyond repair
    　
  • Oguni Snow Park appears to have closed around the mid 1990's
    　
  • The facility is now called Nagaoka Oguni Shinrin Koen (Forest Park)  長岡市おぐに森林公園
    　
  • It offers camping, onsen hot springs and other nature experiences
    　
  • A paper art museum can also be found at this location - Kaminobijutsu Museum  紙の美術博物館
    　
  • Oguni Town  小国町  became part ofNagaoka City  長岡市  on 1st April 2005
